Leadership In Training Program

Overview:

Ignite Robotics, in partnership with Blaze Robotics, runs VEX V5 competition events and coaches competitive robotics teams. We are seeking motivated volunteers to join our Leadership in Training Program, supporting our mission to inspire students in STEM through hands-on robotics education. This program provides training, mentorship, and a clear pathway to paid opportunities within Ignite Robotics.

Program Goals:

  • Develop leadership, teamwork, and organizational skills.

  • Gain hands-on experience in STEM education and robotics competitions.

  • Support students, instructors, and competition events in meaningful ways.

  • Provide a pathway for dedicated volunteers to transition into paid positions.

  • Strengthen Ignite Robotics’ community presence and program impact.

Program Roles and Responsibilities

Classroom TA

Support instructors in creating a safe, engaging, and educational environment. Responsibilities may include assisting with activities, supervising students, and helping with materials setup. Prior experience with robotics or 3D CAD design is preferred but not required. Full 10 weekly session commitment is strongly preferred.

Competition Team Mentor

Support student robotics teams as a coach assistant, helping guide their robot design process, game practice, and competition strategies. Prior experience with robotics, engineering, or team leadership is highly encouraged but not required. Consistent involvement throughout the season is strongly preferred to build team rapport and progress.

Other Roles

We also welcome volunteers with expertise in areas such as Competition Event Support, front desk, marketing, social media, website development, event coordination, graphic design, or other relevant skills.
