Our Organization

Ignite Robotics is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to furthering STEM education for future technology leaders. We operate a 6000+ sq ft makerspace in Bellevue where students can design, build, and test their robots with professional tools and peer mentorship at their disposal. Our students compete in the VEX Robotics Competition. We operate two programs: Exothermic and Blaze Robotics at the High School and Middle School levels respectively. With a strong 18+ year history of peer mentorship and alumni connections, we take amateur engineers and turn them into World Champions. Currently, we have more than 30 teams and over 200 members in our organization.

Who Are We?

What is VEX?

VEX VRC, short for VEX Robotics Competition, is a global platform that challenges students to design, build, and compete with robots. It provides a unique opportunity for young minds to explore the world of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) while fostering teamwork, problem-solving skills, and creativity. Each season, the organization introduces a new game challenge, allowing teams to build and design robots that can complete specific objectives. Students compete against each other at the regional, state, and international levels.

Community

A look at our contributions to the community.

Girl-Powered

Students from Exothermic and Blaze volunteered their time at Google’s Girl-Powered event, part of an RECF-backed program to increase female participation in Vex robotics. Our teams answered questions, provided troubleshooting in coding and building and in general created a positive, fun environment for the attendees!

Timberline Middle School

Students from Exothermic teams volunteer each year at Timberline Middle School, helping run their VIQRC competitions and leagues! These students' contributions amplifies the success of these events and acts as an inspiration for the aspiring robotic enthusiasts at the school.

Competitions

Ignite hosts at least 3 VRC competitions each year, including the state championships on multiple occasions! These exciting events bring together teams and individuals from the local robotics community, providing a great space for them to compete.
